FAQ

Common Questions

Are my files uploaded to a server when I use Oxidize?

No. All file processing happens locally in your browser — files are not uploaded to or stored on our servers during normal use.

Does Oxidize retain copies of my files or track activity?

No. We do not keep copies of files or perform cross-file indexing. The site is designed for local processing and minimal tracking.

Can I use Oxidize when I don't have an internet connection?

You need an internet connection to open the site. After the page loads, all PDF processing runs locally on your device and does not upload files.

Which browsers and devices are supported?

Modern desktop and mobile browsers with WebAssembly support — recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari — are supported. Very old browsers may not work.

Are there file size or daily usage limits?

There are no server-side file size limits or daily caps. Practical limits depend on your device and browser memory; very large files may fail on low-memory devices.

Where does document processing take place?

Processing runs in your browser using WebAssembly and browser APIs — not on remote servers — so your data stays on your device during processing.

Are the tools free to use and do I need an account?

Core Oxidize tools are free to use and do not require creating an account for typical processing workflows.

How should teams handle sensitive files when using Oxidize?

Because processing is local, teams should share generated files through their usual secure channels. Oxidize does not provide built-in team storage or sharing features.
